My Mom called yesterday, frustrated because she just noticed that she had $21 in Rite Aid Up Rewards that had just expired. Now my Mom is no couponing slouch – she is on top of the deals and monitors her rewards carefully.
But you know how sometimes life just gets in the way? On top of dealing with my cancer journey, one of her best friends just had major surgery and is struggling to recover. You know how it is when your head is filled with distractions, you get out of the routine. Thus, she hasn’t been visiting the stores as regularly as normal in the past 10 days or so.
Thus – expired rewards. While on the phone she told me that she was going to call Rite-Aid’s customer service phone number and explain the situation and see if there was anything that could be done. She did, and I am happy to report that this morning she called to say Rite-Aid was very helpful and understanding. The representative pulled up her account with her Wellness Card number and said that because she does so much business with Rite-Aid they would send her $12 in replacement rewards. He said he was sorry he couldn’t give her the entire $21.00 but he is authorized to send $12. She was thrilled, and I am too.
Like my Dad would say, “it’s better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick”.
So, if you ever find yourself in this position, it may just be worth a call to Rite-Aid!
