Redbox boasts more than 30,000 rental-kiosk locations nationwide, each carrying hundreds of new-release movies. These shiny red beacons of home entertainment can be found in and around grocery stores, pharmacies, convenience stores, and other common places that citizens frequent on a day-to-day basis. To redeem this Groupon, customers will simply input one of their Redbox promo codes using the kiosk touch screen, swipe a payment card, (required for all rentals), and then take home a tearjerker, comedy, or other DVD. Nearly all movies featured in Redbox kiosks have been released within the past six months and new releases are made available every Tuesday. Current offerings include 21 Jump Street, Wrath of the Titans, and A Thousand Words.
Groupon users will be required to swipe their payment card during each Redbox rental, but they will only be charged if rentals are not returned by 9 p.m. on the next day, or for any excess rental fees for Blu-ray disc and video game rentals. Taxes apply for any additional charges, except for rentals in Maryland where taxes are not charged. To make the process even breezier, DVDs can be returned to any Redbox location, including locations proximate to wind tunnels.
