Staring now you can register for the new Walgreens Balance Rewards Loyalty Card that launches on 9.16.12. This new card is going to give you access to sale prices and earn you points on items you buy. You can redeem the points for items like toothpaste (250 points), cookies (100 points), etc.

Plus you earn points for doing healthy things like getting a flu shot, 500 points for a prescription, etc. 5,000 points = $5
The email we received from Walgreens doesn’t mention the Register Reward Program at all; we have heard rumors that Walgreens is going to be doing away with Register Rewards as it encourages the use of the Balance Rewards Loyalty Card. We’ll find out more as the year progresses.
