Did you happen to see the news about Kroger and Harris Teeter? For a mere $2.4 billion dollars Kroger is buying the Harris Teeter chain of grocery stores.

An interesting fact is that Kroger is the 2nd largest food retailer in the USA, only behind Walmart. They are bigger than Target, Costco, etc. (Harris Teeter ranks 33rd).
How many of you are happy to hear about this acquisition? Right now there are 2419 Kroger stores plus other stores that operate under different names including Fry’s, Ralph’s, King Scoopers and Food 4 Less.
We love our local Kroger store and we think that those of you in the effected areas will enjoy the change. Since they are spending a whopping $2.4 billion – maybe they could afford to keep those double coupon policies?’
