We are so loving our new pressure cooker that was a holiday gift from Kelli’s parents. We have the Cook’s Essentials 6 quart digital pressure cooker from QVC.com.
Never in a million years did we think of making moo shu pork at home but we did some research and adjusted some online recipes we found to come up with a really yummy concoction. We used pork steak which is usually the cheapest cut of pork you can find but because the pressure cooker is so amazing it came out perfectly tender.
Enjoy!
Easy Moo Shu Pork in the Pressure Cooker
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound (approx) of pork, cut into small strips (we used pork steak)
1 large onion, sliced thinly
1 bag of shredded coleslaw mix (16 ounce)
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/4 cup beef broth or stock (we used a bullion cube to make ours)
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1/3 cup teriyaki sauce
2 tablespoons cornstarch mixed in 2 tablespoons of water
flour tortillas
Directions:
Heat the oil in the pressure cooker on “brown” setting until hot. Add the pork and the onion and cook about 5 minutes, until lightly browned.
Add the coleslaw mix, the garlic, broth and soy sauce and cook for 5 minutes on high setting.
Quick release the pressure and remove the lid. Set the pressure cooker to “brown” and add the teriyaki sauce and the cornstarch mixture. Heat for about 4 minutes, stirring occasionally. You will notice the sauce thickening.
Serve the cooked mixture in warmed flour tortillas.
