Rite Aid has had their Vicks Formula 44 Custom Care Chesty Cough & Dry Cough on clearance for a couple weeks at my store. It’s been sitting, so lonely, on the end cap in the back of the store with the other clearance items. Yesterday night I remembered that I had a coupon for $3 off 2 Vicks products, and that there is a $1.50 UP Rewards in the ad for select Vicks products so I decided to take 2 of them up to the register and see if they qualify for the UP Reward.
Well–bonus!
Instead of ringing up $3.85 each as marked, they rang up $1.92 each. I knew that was a HOT deal, even if the UP reward did not generate upon check-out. I was able to purchase 6 bottles and my transaction looked like this:
4 Custom Care Dry Cough $1.92 each = 7.68
2 Custom Care Chesty Cough @$1.92 each = 3.84
(3) $3/2 mfg. coupons (deducted $9)
Final cost for 6 bottles: $2.52, or $0.42 each!
The UP Reward did not print, to Vicks Formula 44 items must not be included – but that was just fine with me! $0.42 for $7.69 medicine? That is a SCORE in our book!
