Have you tried the new Campbell’s Skillet Sauces yet? Have you noticed them in the grocery store or see the coupons from the weekend’s inserts? We had, and since they seemed so very simple we wanted to try them.
They are available in 6 different flavors including:
- Creamy Chipotle
- Marsala
- Thai Green Curry
- Toasted Sesame
- Scampi
- Fire Roasted Tomato
We decided that we would try the Toasted Sesame with garlic and ginger; the photo on the front of the package looked delish! The whole concept behind the Skillet Sauces is that it is a quick and easy dinner for two (and then some); You just add chicken to the sauce and viola, you are done! Easy? Fast? Count us in!
We used a full boneless chicken breast (not split), the instructions on the back call for 1 pound of boneless chicken breasts and this was close enough! We cleaned the chicken and cut it up into strips, about 1″ thick or less.
In a skillet with 1 tbsp. of heated vegetable oil we cooked the chicken strips until they were browned. It did not take long at all!
All that was left was to add the sauce packet, which we did. Once it began to boil we reduced the heat to low and let it cook for 5 minutes. That is it – done! The packet suggested serving it over pasta, which did sound good, but we had some leftover brown rice that we served it over and that was really tasty.
All in all, our overall impression of the Campbell’s Skillet Sauces is very good. It was super easy to make, ready in just about 15 minutes. We can envision using firm tofu or even salmon or tuna steaks with this sauce and we think it would be tasty as well. Being able to whip up dinner in a short amount of time and have it taste much better than our usual go to quick dinners (frozen pizza, mac & cheese, spaghetti, etc.) is a welcome plus. The other flavors sound yummy too – so we want to branch out and try them also.
This is a sponsored post. Campbell supplied me with the product so I could post about my experience. All opinions are my own.
