Have you kept an eye on your credit score? We hear all the time that it is a good thing to do, but are you doing it? Suzie Orman, one of our favorites, is always telling people to take charge of their own finances and we know that is important.
We heard about Credit Karma and decided to try it. Literally in under 1 minute we had our credit score from 1 of the 3 major credit companies. It was totally free, no obligation and no mountains of small print to be leary of (like on those “free” television commercials….all that fine print scares me!). They did not try and sell me anything, which I LOVE!
Credit scores are tracked by 3 major companies and typically when you apply for a loan or line of credit the lender averages the scores from all 3 companies to determine your credit score.
It’s always good to check your credit score/report at least one time per year to make sure nothing is appearing on there that shouldn’t be. Mistakes happen, and you don’t want to find out about them when you are in the middle of applying for that mortgage or new car loan. Be proactive and watch your credit report/score yourself. Take control of your financial future.
