Have you heard the stories of people that have found out that they have unclaimed money sitting in a bank account somewhere that they forgot about? Now I am not 100% sure how you forget about a bank account – but apparently people do. Or, the family member passes away and the family is clueless about the account’s existence.
We saw Kim Komando talk about this subject in her article called Missing Some Money and it made us explore the website MissingMoney.com.
It is totally free to check out and you can search by state or by name. It is recommended by our State of Michigan so I felt assured that it was legitimate. I actually found some people’s names that I recognize on the list and I sent an email to the relatives of that person (if they were deceased) or to the individual directly. It’s pretty fun to experiment with and it would be so exciting to help someone find unexpected money!!
