As a couponer you probably have extra items in your house, often called a stockpile. It’s those items you stock up on when you have a hot coupon deal or store sale. It may be extra air fresheners, laundry soap, toothpaste, lotion, shampoo, etc.
Sharing items from your coupon stockpile is fun and it really does make you feel good inside to share your deals with others. We really enjoy doing that!
We also like to go to the stockpile for easy and inexpensive gift giving ideas. It’s amazing what you can pull together and package up into a “wow” gift – for next to nothing!
The basket above we are giving to a friend that did something kind for us. We estimate there is at least $40 worth of items in the basket, and we paid under $5. That doesn’t include the basket which we purchased at Goodwill for $1.29! We like to scour thrift stores and garage sales for nice baskets like these and keep them on hand for when we need to pull together a quick gift. We use plastic wrap to hold everything in the basket and top it off with a nice bow.
It sure looks impressive, and you would never guess how inexpensive it was.
Some of the gift baskets we have put together in this way:
- Welcome to your new home for a relative that just moved into their first place
- Thank you to the postal carrier for their hard work during the year
- Thank you to the auto mechanic for being honest and squeezing us in when we needed a quick repair
- Just because gifts for girl friends that Kelli doesn’t see too often
- Cheer up gift for an elderly friend that just returned from the hospital
The options and reasons are endless; try it! We guarantee you will feel good inside for sharing.
