So today is THE day we set off on our vacation – and I couldn’t sleep. Well, I slept….but I woke up often and found myself glancing at the clock to see the time.
Have you ever done that? It happens to me sometimes when I know I have something important to do or happening the following day.
Mr. TCC had to work really, really late (like getting home at 1am late) yesterday to button things up before we head out so I’m letting him catch some extra snooze time this morning. That is one of the great joys with a road trip, no schedule. No flight time to catch or train departure to make. We are on no schedule, which feels A-mazing!
Yesterday I gassed up the Captiva (she still needs a name……) and we’ll likely be on the road today before noon.
We are headed up to Michigan’s amazing Upper Peninsula to explore. We’ve only been there one other time, last year for a long weekend. That is when our eyes were opened to the beauty, the peace and the breathtaking sights that are in our state. We just knew we wanted to come back and check out the peninsula so this is our adventure.
We’re going to be sharing with you some of the places we stay and activities because we know many of you are fellow Michigan residents (or close by). Hopefully you’ll enjoy our time on the road too!
