Many of you have commented to us that you are watching the TLC show Extreme Couponing. We’ve heard mixed reactions from those of you that find it inspiring and those of you that find it over the top. Either way, there is a great wealth of information on the show and we’ve been inspired by watching it. Truthfully, one of the main motivations for us to dig into the couponing way of life more robustly was Nathan Engels (aka Mr Coupon) who was featured in the very first TLC broadcast of the show. You may remember him as the guy who donated over 1000 boxes of cereal to his local food pantry, after building a structure out of the boxes in his driveway.
Nathan was so wildly popular on the show, he was brought back to do a second segment where he shopped with his Mom for items to donate to the troops. Nathan runs a fantastic site called We Use Coupons. It is a coupon forum, a place you can go to hook up with other couponers and discuss questions, shopping scenarios, sales, coupon sources and basic coupon using information. It is free to join, and you can participate however you wish. You can post and hold a conversation or you can simply sit back and read what others are saying.
