Our outside windows were looking really yucky – it was time for a cleaning.

We were actually out of window cleaner!  I know that seems crazy, we couldn’t believe it either …. but it is true.

I did a little research online and there were a bunch of different make at home window cleaners.   We tried a couple, and found this one to work like a dream!

Make at Home Window Cleaner

window_cleaner

1/4 cup white vinegar

1/4 cup rubbing alcohol

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 cups warm water

Mix all items in an empty spray bottle.  Shake well.  It looks odd, kind of cloudy, but it works:

That is it!  I recommend you shake the bottle every now and then to keep the mixture well blended.  Spray it on the windows and wipe to dry.  I like to use a paper towel to get most of the moisture off the glass and then finish it up by wiping the glass down with newspaper.  The newspaper seems to take away any remaining streaks.
