Oh my! What a fantastic time we enjoyed during our stay at the Maui Sands Resort & Outdoor Water Park in Sandusky, Ohio! We packed up the vehicle and headed out with 4 teenage boys for a fun get away.
We had read about the Maui Sands Resort and were impressed with the family friendly indoor water park idea. We knew that after a long day at Cedar Point (which is just a quick car ride from this resort) the boys would love the chance to chill out and have fun. We were right! 
Upon check in we were greeted by a friendly staff member who welcomed us and explained all the details of the resort. The decor inside made us feel like we were in a tropical paradise! With 4 boys we had booked one of their Hana Suite and it was perfect! 4 bunk beds in one room and a King bed for the two of us …. with a door! Lovely, and perfect. (Notice the boys “stuff” already at home below!)
And each area has it’s own television which was awesome too! Look at the amazing view from our room! 
The boys settled in and then it was a mad dash to the water park. Wow, it was impressive! They were quickly excited to try the huge water slides, which were a bit too intimidating for me. I preferred to relax and swirl around the Kai River in my tube…..pure heaven! The staff in the water park was very friendly; they quickly figured out our 4 boys were up for fun and 2 of the male staffers engaged them with jokes and more. The boys loved it!
We were so impressed with the attention to detail and the amount of life guard/staff members – even with smaller children I would not hesitate to feel safe. The ease of maneuvering around the water park was perfect – as a family it was easy to find each other and “check in” periodically. What a treat!
When we finished up with the water park adventure, we retreated back to the room and went out for a quick bite to eat. There is a ton of dining options around, which was nice.
When we returned the boys hit the game room located inside of Maui Sands Resort. Due to the efficiency of the staff we felt very comfortable allowing them to roam the resort alone. 4 teen boys – oh the laughter! They returned about 1 hour later and were bursting at the seams with excitement. They had a riot at the game room!
We loved hearing their silly stories and being able to share in the magical memories for them. Since we do not have children, creating memories for our nieces and nephews is our most important job. Ever. Job well done! They had a bunch of silly fun with the inflatable toys they won in the game room. Their bunk bed area looked like a real boys hang-out after their game room “loot” was distributed! (And yes, they cleaned it ALL up before check-out)!
We loved the free hot breakfast that was included with our stay. This wasn’t your average bagel or donut free breakfast – this was a well-stocked hot breakfast with tons of options. Every single one of us found items that we enjoyed and we left with full bellies that made us ready to take on another day of fun.
Would we recommend staying at the Maui Sands Resort & Indoor Waterpark? You bet! For adults, for families – it is the perfect destination location.
