Groupon has a super national deal for movie tickets, for just $2 each!
You can buy your tickets here. The theaters have to be Fandango theaters, which you can search for in your local area here. I did not realize it, but two of our local theaters are in the Fandango family – super score! (If you have problems finding the page, check Cincinnati deals–it is a national deal but appears on that location page).
The fine print from Groupon:
- Expires Apr 20, 2012
- Limit 2 per person. Online redemption only. No cash back except as required by law. Subject to Fandango’s terms and conditions and purchase policy. Only valid recipients of Groupon email offer are permitted to purchase.
- See the rules that apply to all deals.
Here is some other info on the page, that you may find helpful:
Being a Groupon subscriber is like being a movie star: you get to eat at top restaurants, enjoy VIP status at movie premieres, and be constantly photographed by people hiding in bushes. Today’s Groupon—offered exclusively to first-time buyers—gets you one movie ticket for $2 (up to a $12 value) from Fandango, so you can catch a movie at any of Fandango’s partner theaters. Your promotional code must be redeemed online at Fandango.com by April 20, 2012. Buyers must pay any balance due by credit or debit card if the ticket price (including online-convenience fee) exceeds the maximum $12 value.
An online meeting space and informational source for cinephiles and reelcrawlers, Fandango acts as a hassle-free ticketing liaison to more than 16,000 screens across the United States. Skip long lines without the need for impeccable manners or dangerous cloaking devices with its online stub service, which gives moviegoers an advance stake in seats and first dibs on answering on-screen trivia about Hollywood’s most famous gaffers. Feel free to browse Fandango’s handy list of movies in theaters, or get a taste for today’s upcoming films and tomorrow’s epic voiceover talent in the trailers section.
You may choose to print your ticket at home with the easy online instructions or pick them up at your chosen venue, then head over on a whim—calmly breezing past pushy parking-lot scalpers and hypnotic popcorn smells before fluttering into a comfy seat, front and center. Though films are no longer prefaced with densely symbolic existential cartoons about roadrunners and newsreels of Herbert Hoover catching a cannonball in his solar plexus, today’s Groupon to Fandango lets you enjoy movies in their purest, most hassle-free form.
