There are some big changes coming to Rite Aid stores rewards program.  Beginning May 4th Rite Aid will begin it’s Wellness+Plenti points program which is replacing the Wellness+UPs Rewards program.  The perks from Up Rewards will be automatically rolled over into the new Plenti program and shoppers will be issued new loyalty cards.

Plenti points are earned in the same way as +UPs and offer the same savings.   You will be able to use your Plenti points after 6:00am the day after you earned them (just like UP Rewards now).

The savings really isn’t changing, it is just going to be different.  We are sure it will take us all a little while to adjust.  For example, if today you were to earn a $2 +UP on a qualifying purchase at Rite Aid, in May, you will earn 200 Plenti points on that qualifying purchase. Plenti points can be used for savings at Rite Aid as well as certain other Plenti partners. One huge change is that you have at least two years to use Plenti points! (No more 2 week expiration time like with the current Up Rewards).

We did a little digging and found that Rite Aid has a very well prepared page detailing the changes and what shoppers can expect.  Check out the Rite Aid Plenti information here.

There is also an official Rite Aid press release you may find interesting.

You will still earn wellness+ points at Rite Aid on purchases and prescriptions towards savings of up to 20% off almost the whole Rite Aid store for a year. Now, +UP Rewards will transition to Plenti points.

2 nice, positive changes we have noticed:

  • Plenti points are valid for at least two years instead of two weeks.
  • Plenti points can be used at Rite Aid and certain other Plenti partners.  Once you’ve earned at least 200 points, you’ll be able to start using your points for savings at certain Plenti partners including Exxon, Macys and Mobil!

As with any change, there will be an adjustment period for all Rite Aid shoppers.  In our opinion this change doesn’t look like a bad one.  What do you think about the new Rite Aid Plenti program?
