When you are shopping at the grocery store, no matter if it is a quick run in or a large shopping trip, always check the store’s clearance area. Now, if you are a savvy shopper you already know that this is a great place to find reduced items at places like Target, Walmart, etc. But do you think to look for the mark-down area at the grocery store?
Look what we found on clearance at our grocery store today. This was at Kroger, and usually at Kroger the clearance “bin” is by the health and beauty area. But this bin was positioned right at the end of the self check out area.
In the bin was over 50 different packs of chewing gum. Jim quickly zoomed in on the Wrigley’s 5 gum packs because he knew we had a printable coupon for the gum. (Like printable coupons? We do too so we want to share a bunch of printable coupons with you here. Our coupon was for $1.00 off any 2 packs. These Wrigley’s 5 packs were marked down from $1.49 each (who would pay that much for a pack of gum? Seriously?) to just $0.49! That is more our speed.
With the $1.00 coupon, we scored 2 packs for FREE. Nadda. Zip. Zero. FREE! Free is fun! We had 3 coupons, so we were able to get 6 packs of gum on this deal.
So always check your clearance area, and always take in your coupons to the store. It never fails that when we leave the coupon box (or binder if you use that method to store your coupons) in the car we find a deal and end up running back out to the car to get the coupons!
