When the UPS driver pulled up on Friday we were a bit puzzled because we knew we had not ordered anything recently that would result in a visit from the man in brown. Perplexed, Jim took the box from the driver and brought it in.
We were curious as you could hear something rattling around inside. Excitedly I opened it to find this:
Yes, that is a gold foil box with a stretchy gold metallic ribbon! Yes, that is a nice sturdy box filled with some real coffee beans and a full size can of Illy Issimo Mochacinno with a professionally printed pamphlet. This was fun to open, this made an impact on us and made us feel special. This was a memorable experience and while it was a free sample, this one was different.
Illy Issimo got it right; they attempted to gain new customers with their free sample offer (originally posted here), and based on the experience we had with their company, they achieved that goal.
