We told you about the great offer for the Sam’s Club Membership for $4.86 after gift card/free food here.  Go here to read more or go here to buy your membership.

But why should you have a Sam’s Club membership?  Is it worth it?  (Although at just over $5 that should be a no-brainer….)

We have had a membership for over 5 years and here are some of the things we have saved money on:

  • Tires for our vehicles.  I did extensive calling around for the best price for tires and found that Sam’s beat the competition hands down.  Plus if you buy your tires from Sam’s Club they offer members free tire rotation, balance and flat repair for the life of the tire.
  • Prescriptions.  We have saved hundreds of dollars on prescriptions at Sam’s Club.  Again, after oodles of phone calls and research we have found their prices to dominate the rest of the competition.  I even wrote about it a while ago here if you want to know just how much you can save in their pharmacy.

  • Eyecare.  They offer an optical department that is stocked with name brand eye wear and their prices are very competitve.
  • Copy paper.  We buy a big box of paper for about $20, no need for rebates or sales – it is always super cheap there.
  • Shredded cheese.  We buy the big bags of shredded cheese from Sam’s and it works out to be much cheaper than buying the 8 ounce or 12 ounce packs in the store (unless there is a wonderful coupon and sale match up)
  • Wine.  Yep, they have great prices on wine!
  • Electronics.  When we were in the market for a new printer their prices were much less than Best Buy on the same model.  We found this true with printer ink cartridges as well.

This is just a quick off the top of my head list that may or may not help you decide if membership is right for you.  Usually you would spend $45 for a membership but with this hot deal here you can spend under  $5 once all is said and done.  For that price we would say go – for – it!
