Yes, We Watch WWE – We Saw WWE Live This Week

Yes, we watch WWE. Yes, we enjoy it! As a matter of fact Jim and I have been watching professional wrestling on television since we started dating way back in the 1980’s. (Yes, we have been together for a long time, a blissful 33 years if you count from when we first starting “going together” in high school.).

WWE of today is so vastly different from the old school wrestling, it is much more exciting and more of a clean family friendly event. This week we were lucky enough to get to attend a live performance in Saginaw, Michigan at the Dow Event Center.

We took along our niece and nephew, two of the kiddos in our family that are wrestling fans.

The live event was on a Monday, but this was not the taping of the weekly Monday Night Raw live show. You can find Monday Night Raw on USA at 8pm every Monday night.

Because this live performance wasn’t a Monday Night Raw taping we were a little concerned that the show may not be as exciting as previous live WWE events we attended. Would most of the star power be at the Raw taping? Would we miss out on big matches? We were not sure.

Luckily, we were mightily surprised!

If you get a chance to see a WWE Live event, go! Take the kids and get ready for an energizing night of family fun. The kids enjoyed the night so much and to be honest, we did as well. Our seats were awesome and the Dow Event Center is a more intimate venue so you really couldn’t get a “bad” seat in the building.

As you can tell by the photo above, we were not far from the action!

The WWE super stars filled a robust roster for the night. We saw Bray Wyatt (and our nice pulled out the cell phone and turned on the flashlight to wave it as he entered too). If you have never experienced the smartphone flashlight entrance of Bray Wyatt, it is hard to describe. But it is very cool to see!

We also saw Dean Ambrose (one of my favorites), AJ Styles, The Miz, American Alpha, Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch (our niece’s favorite Diva at the moment), Brie Bella, Jack Swagger, The Usos, Luke Harper, Naomi (oh the outfit she had on was amazing!!) and more.

It was action packed, clean family fun. There was no vulgarity, no extreme violence, no overly sexual undertones, and no foul language. The WWE superstars are experts and engaging the crowd which makes the event take on another enjoyable aspect. Several times during the night we found ourselves chanting to root on a WWE superstar or booing one of the villeins.

Seated next to us was the family of one WWE super star, Rhyno. Since we have been following professional wrestling we  have known Rhyno since the 1990’s. He is one of the old school wrestlers that we were happy to see in person. He is originally from Michigan, and obviously his family came out to see him in action. Our niece thought it was cool to be seated next to his family.
