Wow! I popped in to Dollar General today because I wanted to see if they had the Allegra 5 count packages. I had the $7 coupons from the 4/1/12 paper and I knew they expire 4/8/12; I also knew I would not be in the town of a Walmart before then, so I was willing to give up any overage just to score them for free (at Walmart they are $5 so you have a $2 money maker for each coupon you use). Was I happy!!!
Anyway – as I was making a bee line for the allergy medicine, I happened down the food area and saw they had Libby canned vegetables on sale 2/$1. I had no clue they were on sale; if couponers were talking about that deal I was totally out of the loop. Thankfully I had my coupon binder and could pull out my 4 $1/4 Libbys coupons (previously available to print online, no longer available).
I happily loaded up my cart with veggies & remembered the Glade scented oil warmers for $1. I had (2) of the $1.00 off Glade PlugIns Scented Oil warmer coupons and they had them in stock!
Here is my transaction:
16 cans of Libby veggies @$0.50 each = $8
4 Allegra 5 count boxes @$6 each = $24
2 Glade plug in warmers @$1 each = $2
Used (4) $1/4 Libby veggies coupons (no longer available)
Used (2) $1.00 off Glade PlugIns Scented Oil warmer coupons
Used (4) $7 off Allegra coupons from the 4/1 inserts (they adjusted them down to $6)
Total: $4.00 + $1.56 tax = $5.56
A savings of over 89% (pre tax)
thanks for the information love a great deal. and hopefully the dollar general that has just opened up less than five miles up road will have all these great deal tomorrow. going to check it out.
just an FYI per dollar general customer service……if your coupon is for more than the product, you cant get cash back but that overage can be applied toward your other items your purchasing. I just called them 1-877-463-1553 and spoke with Jessica. I would definitely ask about that
We hope they had them Saconda!
Wow! Way to go Kelli! Im really jealous of your veggie score!
