Before we started our hobby of using coupons, we rarely had a stockpile of anything. Were you the same?
Now that we know the magic of smart shopping, using coupons and stocking up on items when the price is right we feel so blessed. We try and share this fun savings lifestyle with anyone who wants to listen, and we are happy you do!
Sometimes when we are out shopping and stocking up on cheap/free items like food, toothpaste, air freshener, cereal or medicines we chuckle because we know we don’t “need” the items. We also know that if the price is free or near free it is stupid not to take advantage of that. Our surplus of items has allowed us to give away and donate so many things, which makes us feel good.
This morning we were grateful for our stockpile because it seems Mr. TCC (aka Jim) has a cold! Did we have to run to Rite Aid and pay full on retail for cold medicine? NOPE! We went to our bathroom medicine cupboard and he was able to pick from a couple of cold remedies that were there, cold medicine that we paid next to nothing for. A couple of pills later and he is asleep, and hopefully on the road to recovery.
So the next time you or someone else asks you “do you really need that”, the answer is yes. If it is free or next to free, the answer in our opinion is always yes!
Happy saving!
I totally agree……….stockpiles are awesome! What a blessing to have & share.
I have been couponing for about 7 months now and still can’t figure out what is the “rock bottom” price for items. Do you have a list that you go by that you could share? Just something to give me an idea if I should or should not buy it? Thanks for all you 2 do for us “newbies”!!!
