Local shoppers know the store I am talking about when I mention Pinny Foods; it’s a locally owned Mom & Pop style grocery store in a small town 1 town over from where we live. Honestly, I never shop there. However…..here is an important lesson for all of you. Don’t underestimate ANY store, when it comes to deals you can score with coupons!
While running an errand yesterday Jim and I noticed on their sign it said Buy 1, Get 2 Free Hillshire Farms deli meat. We are out of deli meat, so Jim persuaded me to stop there. He gets 100% credit; I really did not feel in the mood.
We had our coupons in the car (rule #1 as a coupon user: never leave home without your coupons!). I did not think I had any Hillshire Farms meat coupons, but figured if the price was right the Buy 1, Get 2 Free deal would be a score any way. In fact, I stopped at the counter when we walked in just to ask if they even took coupons. They do, but no doubling at all.
Over in the meat department we saw the meat and as a habit, we checked our coupons. Low and behold, we had 2 different coupons for Hillshire Farms meat! $0.35 off 1 and $0.75 off 2. With 6 copies of each, we happily loaded 18 packs into the cart.
After coupons, we paid $5.34 for all that you see! (They were $1.99 each to start with).
Wahoo! And they fit nicely in our jam packed freezer if you take them out of the cardboard boxes.
So don’t underestimate the deals you may find locally once in a while. Without an open mind, we would have missed this score. And if you are local, head to Pinny Foods this week with your Hillshire Farms coupons!
We went to Pinny this weekend on our way home from Standish. We got this deal and then we got the Shrimp Poppers they had on special for 1.99 and Cracker combo lunchables they had for 1.00! Plus we had a coupon!
