Wow, we just got a phone call from Kroger! OK, not a personal call from the president of the company but a recorded call from Kroger alerting us to a product recall on something we have bought. They know this because we use our store loyalty card when we check out.
We’re passing along what they told us – in case you have bought these items too!
Aunt Jemima Frozen pancakes in the following flavors: oatmeal, buttermilk, homestyle and confetti have been recalled. They are found in the frozen food department, with use by dates of 11/1/11 to 10/16/12. If you purchased any of these at Kroger, you can return them for a full refund. We did a little research and found out this is a voluntary recall, and has to do with soy protein. “The product may contain soy protein, an undeclared allergen. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy protein may run the risk of an allergic reaction if they consume this product.”
Any questions? They said to call 888-299-7646. We also found a link to more information on the Aunt Jemima website here.
wonder what to do? I pulled the pancakes this morning at Kroger for my merchandising company. I know the ones I pulled today were the same ones I bought 1/14/12 but I already recycled the boxes-guess I will throw the pancakes away? I have the reciept-I can ask when I go in on Wed.
