This week in our series You Sold That for How Much? we are going to share a yard sale score with you.

Recently we bought this piece of fabric for $0.33 at a garage sale.  It was one of 3 pieces we bought that were 3/$1.  We could tell the fabric was high quality when we felt it, and the price was extremely low!  Heck, if it did not resell for a profit on eBay Kelli was sure she could find a use for it.  Who doesn’t love animal print?

Check out our online eBay listing for the animal print fabric here.

The fabric measured 54″ wide by 64″ long, just shy of 2 yards.

We listed the fabric on eBay on our Vintage Collectible Memorabilia site and it sold for $39.00!

Here is a breakdown of our profit on this sale:

Selling price                                      39.00

Item cost                                              -0.33

eBay fees                                              -3.51

Paypal fee                                           -1.43

Shipping cost                                  -5.35 (we offered free shipping on this item to the buyer)

Total profit $28.38

We included two photos of the fabric and gave a complete description.  We also bumped up the price so that we could include free shipping as an enticement to buyers.  We love free shipping as a buyer so we like to offer it on the items we sell as well.

You can use your cell phone to take the photos needed for an eBay listing;  you can even list right from your phone!

We are full time entrepreneurs and run several successful online selling businesses.  You can read more about our background and our journey.

  1. Great job! I recently got a Flo-Bee for free. At one time it was the rage and people were attaching this thing to their vacuum and giving haircuts. It worked, and no I did not cut anyone’s hair. Sold it on eBay for $40.
